Learning
Outline
Business and Entrepreneurship is designed for 18–24-year-olds who are passionate about turning their business ideas into reality. Students will gain hands-on experience in business strategy, learning how to analyse and critique ideas to find the most successful approach. The course will cover essential topics like business modelling, pitching, validating assumptions, and developing a minimum viable product. Students will also work on personal projects, applying strategic and management theory to real-life case studies. We don’t follow a fixed curriculum—our tutors tailor the course to the group’s interests, ensuring a personalised learning experience. The course also includes a masterclass on entrepreneurial thinking, along with a reflection session to track progress and set new goals.
Teaching methodology
Learn the Oxford way with tutorial-style teaching. Your expert tutor will foster self-directed learning and critical thinking through interactive seminars in small groups (no bigger than 8). During your course, you will complete two pieces of independent work (essays or problem sheets), which your tutor will then evaluate in either a 1:1 or 2:1 tutorial. Tutorials will provide you with the opportunity to discuss your work and feedback with your tutor and learn new perspectives from your classmates. On completion of the course, you'll receive a certificate and letter of recommendation from your tutor.
The city of Oxford, with nearly 1,000 years of academic history, has long been a place where ideas and enterprise thrive. From influential economic theories to innovations that have shaped industries, Oxford is a city known for creativity, problem-solving, and global connections. As part of the 18–24 Business and Entrepreneurship programme, you’ll live in an environment that encourages ambition and innovation. The city of Oxford provides the perfect backdrop for exploring how new ideas become businesses that impact the world.
Accommodation is in single or twin rooms, depending on the tier. Plus lets you choose single or twin; Superior guarantees an ensuite; and Premier provides concierge-selected rooms. All include shared spaces and on-course staff support.
Meals are provided on a half-board basis (breakfast and dinner), served in college dining halls or at selected local restaurants. Students arrange their own lunch. All dietary requirements are catered for.
The Experience
Entrepreneurship is the art of turning ideas into real opportunities — whether launching a new product, shaping social change, or driving innovation within existing organisations. In Oxford, students explore how businesses grow and adapt in a fast-changing world, diving into key concepts including strategy, marketing, finance, and leadership. Case studies and collaborative challenges help them think creatively about solving problems and recognising value where others may not yet see it.
Tutorial-style learning with a maximum of eight students ensures every learner can contribute, experiment, and receive personalised guidance. Two independent assignments such as pitches or business analyses receive tailored tutor feedback that sharpens communication, confidence, and commercial thinking. Alongside enrichment activities, supportive college-style living, and an international peer group, students gain insight into real entrepreneurial pathways and the mindset that drives success. They leave with a certificate of completion, a personalised tutor recommendation, and clearer direction for where their ambitions could take them next.
